Sabbath mornings at Kibidula are filled with activity. It often starts with evangelism students walking past our house to nearby villages a couple of kilometers away. Closely followed by the singing of AG students in the back of the overcrowded Nissan. Elsewhere on campus a Landcruiser is loaded with other Evangelism students going out to five different churches. Primary students and teachers go their prospective ways in a second cruiser. These enthusiastic missionaries are going out to conduct church services and afternoon visitation in the surrounding villages. But for each one that goes out there are those left behind.

Ever since we have arrived at Kibidula we have been gaining an increasing understanding and burden for the Sabbath outreach programs here. Also a growing concern for wear on the vehicles and safety of the passengers as they go out to reach others for Jesus. Our family has not really participated with the outreach because there simply isn’t room for us to go. And there are others who leave families behind because there isn’t room for all who want to participate.

There is also need for medical outreach during the week and at times a vehicle for moving construction materials or visiting nearby families to encourage them. But due to the cost of vehicles, parts and fuel here, it has seemed prohibitive.
Recently, we have been impressed that something must be done to help this need. We would like to purchase a personal vehicle that could be used in this manner. Used vehicles can be a challenge here, due to often poor vehicle maintenance, however we are praying that God can lead us to the right used vehicle. We would like to raise $10,000 for an older double cab pickup, most likely one that needs a little work to make reliable. Larger vehicles like Landcruisers that are maintained tend to retain values close to $50,000 and are more expensive to operate. There is a need for both, but the most urgent needs would be somewhat relieved by another pickup. Would you make the purchase and operation of this vehicle a matter of prayer? We ask that God would guide us to the right solution.
